The new Alain Ducasse restaurant is in the Palace of Versailles. It is an elegant space impeccably decorated by interior designer Pierre Tachon. During the day, it is a cafe-restaurant, frequented by the families and tourists who visit Versailles. The simple, light lunchtime menu includes croque monsieur, as well as more elaborate dishes at very reasonable prices. In the evening, it serves typical Versailles dishes, which Ducasse says are inspired by the recipe books of François Massialot (1660-1733), chef to several of the great aristocrats of the time, including Philippe I, Duke of Orleans and brother of Louis XIV.
