Place des Vosges
Paris
Located in the heart of the Marais, for many Parisians, it is not only the most beautiful square in Paris but in the world. The Place des Vosges is the oldest in the city. Inaugurated in 1612 with the celebration of the marriage between Louis XIII and Anne of Austria, it has a beautiful garden of linden trees decorated with some fountains and an equestrian statue of Louis XIII in the centre. Around the square, there is a set of 36 red brick housefronts built symmetrically. Their bottom floors are currently home to various restaurants.
